A palate delight and ethnic steel drum beat await anyone who would visit Agave Terrace Carribean which joins the list of St. Thomas Island’s best restaurants. Their choice selection of seafood, particularly crabs that are served alongside with shrimps and fritters juicy enough to satisfy your craving, will make you come back for more even though to get there, you would have to go through a steep climb up. You’ll pass by a hill and enjoy a jungle feel with trees all around and if it’s a Tuesday or Thursday night, be lucky to be welcomed by steel drum beats from this good as real tropical island palace.

For a night drink, Agave Terrace Caribbean takes pride of its mix drink combining Midori, rum, pineapple juice and secret ingredients that will have every visitor going back for more. The drink will get your appetite on a high and the appealing menu will surely beat the hungry monster in you.

Ambiance, great food and unique entertainment, this Point Pleasant Resort-housed restaurant situated on St. Thomas Island’s northern coast is a must to go to, although be sure to arrange your reservations early for a sure seat. Just contact (340) 775-4142.

All of its visitors are not just treated to a sumptuous set of delectable continental dishes but are also entertained with live piano music. The rest of music that is being played inside the restaurant is set to imbibe some pirate spirit that is considered the myth behind the name of the place – some legendary pirate who rules the island some 200 years ago.

With its true, mystique ambiance, this amazing place has done well in contributing to the tourism progress of the island. It has elegant interior designs with the perfect lighting effects and fixtures. Their cuisine options are combinations of Asian and European dishes to entertain any culture and palate.

The restaurant will surely make you feel like the Blackbeard pirate who was in the verge of discovering all the Caribbean spices and herbs all at the same time!

Owned by Nicole and Eric Horstmever, this restaurant manifests a mixture of South Beach, New York and Virgin Island tastes. An open-sided restaurant, you can readily smell the cinnamon and cloves aromas as you are seated comfortably with Cuban and Pacific Rim menus on your hand.

Some great tasting dishes from Puerto Rican chef Omar Sanchez are the ahi in the ceviche, duck confit with chile-scented corn masa and tres leches desert with punchy yuzu sauce that will surely fit your sensitive taste buds.

If you are adventurous enough to try the St. Thomas native and authentic specialties like conch Creole, old wives, mutton or goat meat and ducana, try dropping by the Cuzzin’s Caribbean Restaurant & Bar. Located at the Back Street, Charlotte Amalie, this cozy restaurant is made up of brick walls and planked ceilings just like an old livery stable.

Even if this beautiful restaurant offers the typical sandwiches, burgers, and fries, most main courses have its fascinating side dishes. A good example would be fungi or peppery blend of okra and cornmeal and ducana or sweet potato dumpling with salt fish. The local stuffing of potato, tomato, sugar, cinnamon and raisins served in unique style is a must. You better check this place out any day of the week except Sundays.

The British Virgin Islands’ Foxy proprietor gave way to the Barefoot Buddha in Havensight, Charlotte Amalie as it was opened by daughter Justine Callwood. With its Hang Zen motto, this restaurant not just offers relaxation but also recharging energy with its chaispressos and Vietnamese lattes. Its tea and coffee specialties, every caffeine fiend would be fully satisfied.

With its bright-colored cushions, hand-painted tables and even a disco ball, the Barefoot Buddha is one funky place to stay in St. Thomas. Aside from home specialties, this restaurant also serves organic breakfast and lunch where sandwiches and Asian-style noodles are major hits. Equipped with free wi-fi, this restaurant is open Mondays through Saturdays 7 am to 3 pm and Sunday 8 am to 3 pm.
