However, it is advisable for advanced divers due to its depth and the distance it takes from the shore. But for sure, once you take the risk of diving its wrecks, you will be amazed with all the wonders that it has to offer.

The history of the SS Grainton began with it being built by Chapman and Willan who owned four ships all with the names of SS Grainton. But this was the very first which sank deep in St. Thomas. It was built in 1911 and launched in March 26 of the same year.

Now the entire ship lies deep about 110 feet under the waters with all the gunwales open to give a reveal of its 3 huge steam engines where were all made frozen in time. The engine measures about 20 feet high and 10 feet wide and now serves as home to many schools of fish. Watch out too for large nurse sharks and pelagic prowlers with this deep level of water.

It is an island which measures 491.5 acres with over 161 residents. However, most parts are still undeveloped. It is located on the southern side of St. Thomas for about a half-mile far. Some tourists who want to see the island reach it by a ferry ride.

The most popular attraction in this island is the Honeymoon Beach. But according to some, it cannot even be called a beach. It has an area of about 50 feet long packed with rocks and vegetation and can only extend from the water line in 10 feet.

It is where you can find an underwater observatory which renders you a chance to view all kinds of marine life without having to get wet.

Because of this attraction, Coki Beach can really get utterly saturated at times. Both adults and kids alike can enjoy and have a great time in the Coral World especially if you have never really experienced seeing the beauty underwater.

You would have to pay for an admission fee though but if you would take part in the island tours, then you would have to pay for the entire tour package. If you want to reach it on your own, then you can just grab a taxi from the Charlotte Amalie or just ride the East End bus.

Perfect for adult sports activities like windsurfing, kayaking and snorkeling, children can also enjoy its beach playground. You can also have various dining options in this open-air place which is just few minutes away from Charlotte Amalie.

If you are looking for ultimate peace then this place is not for you. Always crowded with locals and guests, the Coki Point Beach is well-known for its practicality. With its wide area, nice view, good facilities, lots of shades and activities and delicious food, what more can you wish for? The beach has grand sand, crystal-clear water, great view of Thatch Cay as well as good spots for snorkeling.

You can find vendors in this place that will offer you snorkeling gears as well as fish food but beware of pickpockets as well as annoying hair braiders. It is located near the Coral World underwater tower that will enable you to have a closer look with the marine ecosystem without getting wet.

It was recognized by the National Geographic Magazine as one of the ten leading Caribbean Beaches in the world.

Buck Island was preserved since 1948 to protect the endangered species in the place and it was proclaimed a national monument during the time of John F. Kennedy in 1961. There are lots of tour boats that one can take to explore Buck Island along with other sailing tours.

You should not miss taking the snorkeling trail underwater to see the numerous fish specimens and numerous corals. The Renegade Tour would surely complete your visit since it is a boat with a bottom made of glass window so you can see the great wonders of the sea during your ride. Their Outdoor Market is an added attraction as well to buy fresh fruits that you can enjoy for a picnic.

When it comes to Caribbean sailing, there is nowhere better than the Virgin Islands. Iit is one of the finest and safest yacht charter areas in the world with steady trade winds, plenty of sunshine year round and numerous sheltered harbors.
The quiet coves where Drake, Columbus and Blackbeard used to anchor are once more havens for fleets of sailing vessels and the modern adventurers who come to explore the Virgin Islands. For those seeking to get away from it all, this is the place: there is no golf, no gambling, no major entertainment center, only sailing in the water with others seeking the same relaxing enjoyment, with charming local bars and restaurants on the various islands to share the passion. There is a deep sense of peace in the Virgin Islands one finds hard to forget, which keeps bringing the same people back over and over again. The waters are superb for swimming, snorkelling, diving and yacht charter. Most of the Virgin islands have a volcanic origin which gives character to the terrain.

Magens Bay
Magens Bay is a world-famous bay on Saint Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, located in the Caribbean. The beach at Magens BayLocated on the North side of the island, Magens Bay features a well-protected white sand beach stretching for nearly a mile. It is commonly considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and National Geographic has recognized it as such.
Magens Bay was previously owned by Arthur Fairchild, who gave most of it as a gift to the Municipality of St. Thomas and St. John in 1943. The far Western portion was donated by Fairchild’s nephew’s widow, Christine Wheaton, in 2002. The Bay is currently administered by the semi-autonomous Magens Bay Authority. The Authority is a self-sustaining entity which funds its operations by charging a per-person entrance fee (currently $4.00 for visitors and $2.00 for locals), parking fees, as well as payments received from the park’s restaurant and rental concessions. Legend has it that Sir Francis Drake used Magens Bay as an anchorage while waiting for ships to plunder.
