The Historic St. Thomas Synagogue

Everything that you will see when you come visit St Thomas Synagogue came from way back 1833. From the benches to the bima, all were made out of mahogany that used to be found abundantly on the island. All the chandeliers though were from Europe, specifically Holland.

Its walls are all fireproof since the building was made out of bricks and other kinds of stones instead of wood. Those stones were believed to be quarried from Europe. Its sand floor is another of its most interesting features. Many legends say that this is the very path that Moses and his children walked for the whole 40 years.

Consistent restorations were being made to the place and by 1995 to around 1996, there was a tiny museum that was added to the synagogue. It was named after Johnny Weibel who was a congregation member. The said museum displays the history of the congregation and some of the rest of the Jewish history spread on the island.

Camille Pissaro was born and raised in the area of Charlotte Amalie in St Thomas. Known to be the Father of French Impressionism, he was able to make hundreds of art pieces ever since he was a kid.

Now, his entire home since childhood days has been turned out into a beautiful and amazing art gallery. The place features also some of the best art pieces of world-renowned artists including those of Pissaro himself.

The Water Island

This fourth Virgin Island is officially given in to a transfer in 1996. It is an island which measures 491.5 acres with over 161 residents. However, most parts are still undeveloped. It is located on the southern side of St. Thomas for about a half-mile far. Some tourists who want to see the island reach it by a ferry ride.

The most popular attraction in this island is the Honeymoon Beach. But according to some, it cannot even be called a beach. It has an area of about 50 feet long packed with rocks and vegetation and can only extend from the water line in 10 feet.

Coral World In St. Thomas

This marine complex is considered to be one of the most famous attractions in the island. It is where you can find an underwater observatory which renders you a chance to view all kinds of marine life without having to get wet.

Because of this attraction, Coki Beach can really get utterly saturated at times. Both adults and kids alike can enjoy and have a great time in the Coral World especially if you have never really experienced seeing the beauty underwater.

You would have to pay for an admission fee though but if you would take part in the island tours, then you would have to pay for the entire tour package. If you want to reach it on your own, then you can just grab a taxi from the Charlotte Amalie or just ride the East End bus.

XO Wine Bar

Then you should visit the XO Wine Bar at Red Hook where the ambiance is more refined with is muted lighting and artwork collection. You don’t need to shout here to be heard and just sip your drinks around low black leather booths and illuminated tables. The Island Time Pub at Red Hook

This pub is considered the hottest spot where boaters hang out after a day of adventure. From here, you are rendered an overlooking view of the vessels at the Red Hook Marina. If you are after some casual place and no elegant yacht club types, then Island Time is where you should head for.

You will be entertained by their jolly bartenders ready to give everyone some quick pours. The place’s co-owner is a New Yorker by the name of Glen Melbourne who adds up 11 pizza pie flavors on the pub’s menu plus a lunch service as their newest expansion plans. They are open everyday from 3 in the afternoon to 12 midnight.
